Today I realized something unexpected, which touches on the depths that this work can reach.
Since teaching this course from the the first of January I have had to spend time doing this work in order to prepare for class each week. That means, doing a lesson or two, studying it, writing it down, doing parts of it again until I have it in my body and understand it. I have felt my body grow increasingly more limber, more at ease and just working better overall.
Then today it occurred to me that in the last few days I have been able to follow my wish to take a pass on many sugar or caffeine cravings that come to me throughout every day. I'm not saying I've gone cold turkey. It's more like, it's easier to recognise that I don't really want that 5th cup of tea or bite of sugar, that it won't really fill the energy hole. I've been wanting to reduce my sugar and caffeine intake for 2 years and haven't been able to overcome my cravings. Little by little as my body comes into greater working harmony I can feel my energy increase and my will get clearer. These classes not just a physical practice. Our bodies are integrated with our minds, our emotional states and our cognitive awareness. Open space for the self to be clarified and shifts of all kinds will follow as far as one is willing to go.
